What is Rec’on the Future ?
It is a training course that happened in 2016, for 27 youth workers from Kosovo, Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Romania, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Spain and France.
The participants (18 – 25 years) from South-Western European countries and the Balkan region had the chance to engage into intercultural dialogue through creating short documentary films. Thus, while speaking the universal language of art, they had the chance to bring up political values in a creative way, such as cross-cultural solidarity and citizenship.
A story can always be told from different perspectives; we believe that exchanging and sharing those different points of view is crucial to a peaceful dialogue between several nations, that is, between several collective memories.
The project ‘Rec’on the future!’ aims at highlighting the various dimensions of youth citizenship in regards to its different social contexts: at the personal, local, communitarian, national, European and global level.
When did it happening?
• 1st training in April 2016, during two weeks in Prizren – Kosovo : to meet and build up the short movies !
• 2nd training in August 2016, still in Prizren : to present and share the shorts and the experience of the training. The documentaries made during the training in April will be screened during the Dokufest 2016 !
The videos are now fully available on youtube, enjoy!
To sum-up very shortly, it goes like this: « the project is about meeting people from Balkan and south west europe countries, talking about citizenship, identity, culture through learning short video’s making ».
